How we started.

PinkCityTours began in 2010 as a side project — three Jaipur friends who'd grown tired of watching foreign travelers get herded onto 40-seat coaches, dragged through commission-paying gemstone shops, and shipped back to Delhi with a bad case of Delhi belly and a worse opinion of India.

We started by doing one trip a month, ourselves, for friends-of-friends visiting from the US and UK. Word travelled. By 2014 we had a full-time driver. By 2017 we had four. Today we run 200+ private trips a year, host travelers from 47 countries, and have never put two unrelated parties in the same vehicle. The original promise still stands.

What "curator" actually means.

We don't own the sanctuaries you'll visit. We don't own the heritage hotels you'll sleep in. We don't own the cars you'll travel in. What we own is the map — eighteen years of knowing which sanctuary actually treats its elephants well, which driver doesn't take side-commission detours, which heritage hotel still has the original 1920s plumbing (good story) versus the bad 1990s plumbing (bad shower).

When you book with us, we pick the right partners for your dates, your budget, your taste. A honeymooning couple gets different hotels than a photography enthusiast. A vegetarian Jain family gets different restaurants than a barbecue-curious Australian. None of this requires you to specify it — we ask the right questions during booking, then make the calls.

What we won't do.

We will not book the Amer Fort elephant ride. We will not take you to a gemstone "factory" that pays us a 30% commission on whatever you buy. We will not put your party in a 30-seat coach with strangers. We will not run mid-day safaris that stress wildlife. We will not pretend we're guaranteed a tiger sighting when we're not.

Those are the easy refusals. Harder: we won't book a 3-day Golden Triangle for someone we suspect needs 5 days — even if they insist. We'd rather lose the booking than send a tired guest home angry. We've turned down trips. We sleep better.

Private, never shared.

Your car, your guide, your itinerary. No strangers in the back seat. We've never run a coach group and never will.

Animals before optics.

No Amer Fort elephant rides, no roadside dancing-monkey shows, no chained-camel rides at Pushkar. The photo is never worth the harm.

Transparent pricing.

USD prices, posted on every page. No hidden costs, no "optional" shopping stops where guides earn commissions on your purchases.

Local-owned, locally run.

Our office is in Jaipur. Our drivers live in Jaipur. When something goes wrong, help is 20 minutes away — not a call center 8 time zones removed.

Honest sighting odds.

For tiger safaris and similar — we publish realistic season-by-season probabilities. We will never tell you "guaranteed" when it isn't.
