Why book this tour

Made for short windows

Perfect if you have 72 hours in India between business meetings or before flying onward to Goa, Kerala, or Nepal.

100% private — no strangers

Your own car, driver, and guide. No 6 AM wake-ups in a coach with 40 people. Start when you want.

Transparent pricing

What you see is what you pay. No 'optional' shopping stops where guides earn commissions on your gemstones.

Most 3-day Golden Triangle tours feel like a sprint — early starts, long drives, hurried photos. We rebuilt this itinerary from scratch so you actually experience each city, not just tick it off a list. The trick? We drive the longest leg (Agra → Jaipur, about 4 hours) on Day 2 afternoon when you're already warmed up, and we never start before 8 AM unless you specifically want the Taj sunrise.

💡 Insider tip: If your international flight lands in Delhi after midnight, take this tour starting Day 2 instead. We'll pick you up rested at 9 AM. The Delhi-only day is the easiest to skip if you're crunched.

Who is this tour for?

First-time travelers to India who want a manageable sample of the country's history and color. Couples on honeymoons with a tight calendar. Business travelers turning a layover into a real trip. Solo travelers who want company on the road but their own room at night.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Every day, every meal, every stop — planned by our team, customizable on request.

Day 1

Old Delhi, New Delhi & the Drive to Agra — Delhi → Agra

Morning pickup from your Delhi hotel or the airport. Begin with Old Delhi — a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk's spice lanes, the imposing Jama Masjid (India's largest mosque), and a glimpse of the Red Fort from outside. After lunch at a heritage restaurant, drive to New Delhi: India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Lotus Temple, and Humayun's Tomb (the architectural blueprint for the Taj Mahal). Late afternoon, drive to Agra on the Yamuna Expressway (3.5 hrs).

  • Cycle-rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk
  • Humayun's Tomb (UNESCO)
  • Sunset arrival in Agra
Stay: Crystal Sarovar / Howard Plaza Agra (4-star) Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Drive: 3.5 hours (Delhi → Agra)
Day 2

Taj Mahal Sunrise & The Drive Through Time — Agra → Jaipur

Sunrise at the Taj Mahal (gates open 5:30 AM) — see the marble shift from pearl-white to gold. Your guide will share the love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal as the morning unfolds. Return to the hotel for a leisurely breakfast. Then visit Agra Fort, often skipped but more powerful than the Taj for many travelers. Late morning, drive toward Jaipur (4 hours) via the abandoned Mughal capital of Fatehpur Sikri — a quick stop that adds maybe an hour. Arrive Jaipur by evening.

  • Taj Mahal at sunrise (peak light)
  • Agra Fort — the Mughal seat of power
  • Fatehpur Sikri stop (optional)
Stay: Umaid Mahal / Hilton Jaipur (4-star heritage) Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Drive: 4 hours (Agra → Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri)
Day 3

The Pink City — Forts, Palaces & The Drive Home — Jaipur

Begin with Amber Fort — climb the elephant-paved ramp (no elephant rides on our tours, ethics matter), explore the Sheesh Mahal hall of mirrors, and have your guide point out the Mughal-Rajput fusion in the architecture. Photo stop at Jal Mahal (the floating palace). Mid-day visit to City Palace and Jantar Mantar (the 18th-century astronomical observatory — UNESCO). Photo stop at Hawa Mahal. Lunch at a local Rajasthani thali restaurant. Late afternoon, drive back to Delhi (4.5 hrs) or be dropped at Jaipur airport for your onward flight.

  • Amber Fort (UNESCO)

Glimpses From The Journey

Your Questions, Answered

Is 3 days really enough for the Golden Triangle?

Honestly? It's the bare minimum. You'll see the major monuments but won't have time for things like a heritage walk in Old Jaipur or a leisurely dinner overlooking the Taj. If you have 4+ days, take our 4-day version — the extra day makes a real difference. But 3 days works if your schedule is locked.

Can the tour start from Jaipur instead of Delhi?

Yes — reverse the itinerary. Many travelers fly into Jaipur (it has direct international flights from Dubai, Sharjah, Singapore) and exit Delhi. Just tell us when booking. No price change.

Do you arrange the Taj Mahal sunrise visit on Day 2?

Yes. The Taj opens at sunrise (~5:30 AM in winter, ~5:00 AM in summer). Your guide will meet you at 5:00 AM and you'll be among the first 50 visitors. Hotel-style early breakfast can be packed for after.

Is the Taj Mahal closed on Fridays?

Yes — the Taj Mahal is closed every Friday for Muslim prayers. We'll automatically adjust the itinerary if your dates include a Friday (swap with Agra Fort + Fatehpur Sikri).

What car will we get?

For 2 travelers: a Toyota Innova Crysta (AC, comfortable for long drives). For 3-4: same. For 5-6: Tempo Traveller (12-seater with reclining seats). Each comes with a uniformed driver and bottled water.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Absolutely. Pure-vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, Jain, kosher — all standard. India is the world's most vegetarian-friendly country, but tell us in advance and we'll brief restaurants.

How do I get an Indian visa?

Most nationalities (US, UK, EU, Australia, Canada, Japan) can apply for an e-Visa online at indianvisaonline.gov.in. It takes 3-5 working days. We have a detailed visa guide here.

Is it safe for solo female travelers?

Yes, especially on a private tour. Your driver is vetted, your hotels are 4-star with 24/7 security, and your guide is a verified professional. We've hosted 200+ solo women travelers without incident. Our safety blog has more details.

Can I customize hotels or add extra nights?

Yes — this is a custom private tour. Want to stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas with Taj views ($800/night)? Done. Want to add a night in Jaipur to slow down? Easy. Just message us with your preferences.
