Golden Triangle Tour: 5 Days, 4 Nights — Slow Travel Edition
Same three cities, an extra day to breathe. For travelers who don't want to start every morning at 7 AM and prefer one long lunch over three rushed photo stops.
Why book this tour
Slow mornings, no 6 AM starts
Except the one optional Taj sunrise. Otherwise you'll start at 9 AM with a proper breakfast — not a coach-station sandwich.
Half-day buffer in Jaipur
Use it for a heritage walk, a block-printing workshop, a leopard safari, or simply a long afternoon nap. Your call, day-of.
Meet real artisans
Not the staged 'workshop' that doubles as a sales floor. The real ones — 4th-generation lac-bangle makers, hand-block-printers using 200-year-old wood stamps. You watch, you don't have to buy.
There's a category of traveler we've started calling the 'slow Golden Triangle' guest. They've done the 7-country-in-3-weeks Europe trip and decided they're done with that style. They want one cup of chai, not three monuments before 11 AM. This itinerary is for them. We added a full extra day in Jaipur — which is where most travelers wish they'd had more time — and built in buffer mornings so you can sleep in without missing anything.
What you get with the extra day
An entire 'free morning' in Jaipur — most travelers use it for a sunrise hot-air balloon ride over Amber Fort ($120 add-on), a private block-printing workshop, or a leopard safari at Jhalana Reserve. You're not pressured to do anything. Some couples spend it by the pool at the heritage hotel. We've had a guest spend it writing a chapter of his novel on a Jaipur rooftop. All valid uses.

Glimpses From The Journey
Your Questions, Answered
Is 5 days too much for the Golden Triangle?
Not at all — most travelers tell us afterward that the extra day was the best decision. The 4-day version covers everything important, but the 5-day version gives you the rare gift of not being rushed. If you're flying 16+ hours from the US/UK, you'll appreciate the buffer day.
Can the buffer day be used to add Ranthambore tiger safari?
Ranthambore is a 4-hr drive from Jaipur, so a day trip is tight. We'd recommend our 6-day version which includes a proper Ranthambore add-on with one overnight. Or do a hot-air balloon, Jhalana leopard safari (closer to Jaipur), or a cooking class on the buffer day.
What's included in the cooking class?
A 3-hour session with a chef who's cooked for the Jaipur royal family. You'll learn 4-5 traditional Rajasthani dishes (Dal Baati Churma, Laal Maas optional, Gatte ki Sabzi) and eat what you cook. $65/person add-on, vegetarian and non-veg options.
Can I extend the trip to Udaipur or Jodhpur?
Yes — we can add 2-4 more days for Udaipur (City of Lakes) and/or Jodhpur (Blue City). See our 10-day luxury Rajasthan tour or ask us for a custom quote.
Is the hot-air balloon ride safe?
Yes — operated by Sky Waltz, the only government-certified hot-air balloon company in India. Pilots are British and South African, all aircraft are EU-imported. We've sent 80+ travelers, zero issues.
Are pickup and drop included?
Yes — Delhi airport pickup on Day 1 and Jaipur airport drop (or Delhi drop) on Day 5 are both included.
What's the dress code?
Casual everywhere. For temples and mosques, shoulders and knees should be covered (carry a scarf). Comfortable shoes are essential — you'll walk 4-6 km per day on uneven surfaces. Sunglasses and a hat for the bright Rajasthan sun.
Can we book just the 5-day tour without flights?
Yes — and we recommend it. Our prices are land-only. Book your international flights independently (Delhi DEL is the main gateway). We'll coordinate ground transport from the airport onwards.
